Do you feel your body change as the seasons change? How does the change of seasons affect your mood? Perhaps this is something you haven’t considered or noticed before.
It’s a fact that our physical body requires different routines with the change of seasons. Just like our nutrition and sleep patterns adapt to the changing environment, our body craves a different rhythm.
If you feel like your sleep patterns are different or that your morning routine has changed, how can you flow with this change in tempo?
Do you feel motivated to do the same type of exercises?
It’s important to lean into our body and mind and learn to listen attentively to the body’s subtle messages.
What can you do to find balance and energy?
Finding a way to smoothly transition into the upcoming season is the key to manage any change.
Here are 4 ways to help uplift your mood and emotional state:
- Spend time in nature. Go outside for peaceful walks without distractions and breathe in the fresh, crisp air. Hug a tree.
- Make a commitment to meditate in the morning and before bed. The mind needs this time to listen and just be.
- Spend less time connected to your devices: social media, TV, media/news. Take the time to connect with your loved ones. Have meaningful conversations.
- Take time daily to journal. Journal prompts: How do you want to feel today? What emotions will serve you today. What am I so grateful for right now? This practice takes very little time, and allows your mind to re-focus on what’s working in your life right now
By committing time and energy to working on our emotional/mental well-being, we set the stage for our body to adapt and heal.
Our physical body is a representation of our internal emotional state, directional compass and thermostat. We were designed as self-healing and self-regulating miracles in motion... as the seasons change, so do our routines. This change happens so that we can feel in alignment with Mother Earth.
