Our PBM (PhotoBioModulation aka Red Light Therapy) timer defaults to two hours because the pad is primarily used on the torso and legs, areas that can safely receive longer exposure. The 30-minute guideline mainly applies to the head and face. You can turn the red lights off at any time if you prefer shorter sessions.

Q: The timer goes up to 12 hours and defaults to 8, what does this control?

A: That timer controls the infrared heat only. It allows users to enjoy gentle warmth throughout the night if desired. The PBM and PEMF functions are operated independently from this timer.

Q: Since PEMF and PBM seem so similar, what’s the benefit of using them together?

A: While PEMF and PBM share some effects, they work through different but complementary mechanisms. I bought my large Therapro a few years ago. I absolutely LOVED it. Yes, LOVED. The heat went out on it within 2 years of my purchase and customer service offered no solution or option to get it fixed. They offered a small discount on a new one, but it would still require me paying almost $900 for a new one. I used to use it every night. Now it just collects dust.

I did a lot of research after trying a PEMF mat at a recovery spa, and the Therasage TheraPro ended up being the best option for me because it combined everything I was looking for in one mat: PEMF, full-spectrum infrared, red and near-infrared light, grounding stones, and even TENS therapy. I mainly use it for recovery after two car accidents, especially for neck and muscle pain, and I use it every day. One thing that surprised me was that it comes with TENS pads that connect directly into the controller, so you can get a massage-like muscle stimulation and adjust the intensity all the way up to 55. The mat itself heats up to 158°F, which feels amazing for muscle tension and circulation. What really sold me during my research was the therapeutic depth of the technologies included. The PEMF has multiple frequency programs ranging approximately from 3–64 Hz with adjustable intensity around 1–2 gauss, which felt like a good balance for recovery and wellness without needing an ultra-expensive medical-grade system that costs thousands. The mat also includes full-spectrum infrared (600–16,000 nm), plus red and near-infrared light wavelengths for deeper tissue support, circulation, collagen production, and recovery. I also love that it includes grounding stones like jade, amethyst, rose quartz, shungite, and tourmaline, which make the experience feel incredibly calming and restorative. If I could improve anything, I would make the mat a little longer. I’m 5’6” and part of my lower legs and feet extend beyond the mat when I lay down. Another small downside is that the PEMF cycle stops after 30 minutes, so you have to manually restart it if you want another session. Overall, I am beyond happy with it. After my accidents, I often felt depleted and exhausted, and this mat genuinely helped me feel recharged and supported during recovery. I know if someone wants the absolute strongest PEMF available, they can buy a medical-grade unit for several thousand dollars, but for me this feels powerful, well-designed, and perfectly tailored to my needs.

I've had my TheraPro since June and just now took it out of the box in November. My husband was experiencing unusual inflammation symptoms starting in his hands. Had physician order lab work which revealed CRP (inflammation marker) at 9.3 when it's usually 0.8. Got out the TheraPro and after 4-5 days using TheraPro (Large) using P2 setting for inflammation and red light therapy labs exactly a week later are at 1.6! I am so grateful for my Therasage  PEMF mat and infrared sauna. They have been essential tools for my health journey. In 2020 I came down with a “mystery illness”. Chronic inflammation. Every joint inflamed. I was bedridden. I went to 7-8 doctors, including specialists, naturopaths, and functional medicine doctors. Firstly , my life is forever changed because of this product, the large Therasage’s PEMF mat. I actually purchased it for my husband who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, but he passed away 33 days after diagnosis and before the Mat arrived. I live with chronic pain from a couple of conditions. I have scoliosis and I have Hashimoto’s (that gives me chronic pains in my legs and arms) I wear an aura ring that monitors my stress, sleep, heart rate etc… and when I sleep on the PEMF mat, I have the most sound, healing sleep… actually recorded by my ring. I am so happy with my full size Therasage PEMF/red light pad!! It is total relaxation because it has temperature control to keep you warm in the winter as well as TENS, Red Light and PEMF with a variety of settings. I have healed the problem that I intended after only about a month of use! The company stands behind it's products as well. They sent me a new mat when one of the components stopped working (including postage😊). It's hard to find any company that does that anymore....thank you!
