Magnesium plays a role in 600 processes ranging from the immune system to bone health and nervous system function. The nervous system plays a key role in the body's ability to relax and get into a state of deep and rejuvenating sleep. The parasympathetic nervous system is activated by stress. Supplementing with Calming Magnesium can encourage the body to balance the parasympathetic nervous system and relax the body into a state of sleep. Magnesium also facilitates the hormone melatonin which regulates the body's sleep-wake cycle.

Magnesium citrate also binds to gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors which helps the body relax and the brain to switch from wake to sleep. Any type of stressor move magnesium from inside cells to the outside of cells. Initially, this can be helpful in keeping the body alert and ready to respond to potential threats and stimuli, but over time a lack of magnesium can lead to restlessness and fatigue. This is contrasted with calcium, an important cofactor of magnesium.

Good health is all about balance. A delicate balance must be maintained between the levels of magnesium and calcium in your body—especially at a cellular level. For example, calcium makes muscles contract, while magnesium allows them to relax. Calcium is needed for blood clotting, but magnesium keeps the blood flowing freely. Supplementing with magnesium can mitigate the impacts of stress. Supplementation of magnesium has been shown to promote improved sleep quality in elderly individuals. The method of delivery can also have an impact on the efficacy of supplementation.

Calming Magnesium dissolves easily in water, an advantage over pills or capsules, as an enjoyable drink. By dissolving in water, Magnesium Citrate ionizes magnesium and provides a highly absorbable form which can be efficiently utilized by the body.

Place powder in a glass or mug; add 2–3 oz of hot water. Let it fizz, then stir until dissolved. Fill with warm or cold water and enjoy. You can also simply add Calming Magnesiumto a glass or bottle of water.
